Saint Lucia's Digital Nomad Visa 2026: What the Government Really Wants You to Know
Saint Lucia hasn't confirmed a nomad visa—but the government's stance may surprise you.

A Caribbean island with fast fiber, a fixed exchange rate, and a six week entry clock most guides skip.
Picture a remote designer paying 4,433 dollars a month for a one bedroom in central New York (Numbeo, October 2026). The same size flat in central Saint Lucia averages EC$1,355, about 502 dollars at 2.70 Eastern Caribbean dollars per US dollar (Numbeo, May 2026, and xe.com, October 25, 2026). A 60 Mbps unlimited broadband plan runs about EC$124, or 46 dollars. That designer is a composite example, not a real person, but the rent gap is real: Saint Lucia is roughly 89 percent below New York.
Same income, different costs, that is Living Borderlessly.
Numbeo’s Saint Lucia numbers rest on a small group of contributors, and Expatistan puts a single person’s monthly spending closer to 2,600 dollars, so confirm numbers directly. Get real advice on anything legally ambiguous, especially visas, because this is where the island’s reputation runs ahead of its rules.
The program called Live It began in 2021 as a tourism offer, and the government’s visa page lists only a standard non-immigrant visa at EC$125 for a single entry or EC$190 for multiple entries, with no remote work category. Citizens of the US, UK, and Canada need no visa, the UK Foreign Office says British citizens can stay up to 6 weeks, and extensions cost EC$200 for each 30 days. The US State Department rates Saint Lucia Level 2, exercise increased caution, in an advisory updated July 10, 2026, citing violent crime.
Rodney Bay and Gros Islet are the usual starting point for beaches, restaurants, and Pigeon Island National Park, about 15 minutes from the smaller Castries airport. Fixed broadband averaged 120 Mbps over the last 12 months on SpeedGeo, and Digicel says its fiber reach is growing from 56 to over 99 percent of homes.

So here is the question. Would a six week entry window and a crime advisory stop you, or would a $502 one-bedroom make you plan around it anyway?

💡 Answer to Trivia
B. British citizens can stay up to 6 weeks on arrival without a visa (UK Foreign Office, entry requirements for St Lucia), and extensions cost EC$200 for every 30 days (Embassy of Saint Lucia).
Sun up, laptop open, island time on. See you out there, borderless souls!!
